Hi friends I'm back from a super long hiatus to give you my take on two of my most coveted lipsticks which I have recently purchased ie Kat Von D Lolita and Colorpop's fairly recently launched fall collection shade Ziggie. Lolita is a dusty mauve shade and Ziggie is rusty orange shade which is perfect for this time of the year. I have been wanting to purchase these two shades for the longest time ever now.
My obsession with Lolita started about a year back when I saw it on some video on youtube and that colour absolutely blew my mind. It was Nude lipstick match made in the heaven.Perfect MLBB colour for me! This lipstick is a holy grail for many women all over the world. It's a shade that will suit most type of skin tones. It took me a year to actually get it here in India considering the availability and also the cost not just in India but also out of India. I was honestly so desperate that I even considered buying its dupe or copy off Instagram but as luck would have it whenever I wanted to buy it it was always out of stock. But a few weeks back I got lucky and got the original on Instagram from the handle makeup_shopping_paradise. She has all authentic 100% original products of big brands at very reasonable prices plus she is an amazing makeup artist and a real sweetheart. Do have a look at her page you will not be disappointed. So Miss Amina of makeup_shopping_paradise came through like my superhero and got me my most prized lipsticks ie Lolita and Ziggie. LOL!
Lolita normally retails for above Rs.2500- 3500/- on most sites in India. I purchased it from makeup_shopping_paradise for Rs.2100/- which for me was an absolute steal considering the time I have waited to buy this lipstick. It is hands down the best formula ever. Its super light weight and long lasting. That being said it does not tug at my lips nor does it enhance my cracks. It easily lasts for 7-8 hours with drinks and food. It barely transfers. I'm so in love with it! The packaging is great and with the signature Kat Von D Design on it. The wand is super long which does help in applying the lipstick and the applicator is perfect which helps you achieve the shape you want with your lipstick!The tube is very travel friendly as well and you get 6.6 ml of lipstick. It has no smell so for sensitive people its perfect. For me I'm ok with both as long as the smell is sweet. It dries pretty quick upon application and is super comfortable. Its a must buy if you are looking for nice everyday kinda lippie.
As for Ziggie this was fairly new launch of Colorpop but the color, OMG, (Shiver me timberrsss!!) Have you ever seen some colour of lipstick and just been obsessed with it like it won't just leave you alone. You know you have to find that colour of lipstick even though its different formula and a different brand, nothing matters but that colour. You just have to have it. This is exactly what happened to me when I saw this rusty orange colour lipstick on my Instagram feed (Yes, I follow lot of makeup related people and pages!) So anyways in one such page I saw the Makeup artist wear this liquid lipstick in the shade that best can be described as rusty orange and I was in Lurrrvv!!!. Well since that day I searched high and low for that shade not caring of the brand or the formula. This was until I came across Ziggie of Colorpops Fall edition lippiestix. It was the exact shade I was looking for and it was matte. Double strike!!! I got this for Rs.750/- from Miss Amina of makeup_shopping_paradise. Honestly I'm not that big a fan of the packaging of this one since this its honestly sort of boring ( I'm into flashy, out there kinda packaging) but the formula is good. It goes on creamy and then becomes matte and stays in place for 4-5 hrs without touch up with light food. I'm not very sure if this will survive a greasy meal as I've not tried that but will keep you posted on the same nonetheless. Its again a non drying formula so you wont have butt crack lips by the end of the wear for sure. It does transfer slightly but not too much so that again ok i guess. Like I said earlier I'm not a fan of the packaging hence I find it a little difficult to draw my cupids bow with this one and I have medium lips, if you have thin lips best to apply this with a brush. It is retractable and you get 1 gram of it which is pretty good for the price you pay.The lid is pretty tight making it quite travel friendly.Smell wise this one again has no smell. All in all I bought this one purely for the colour of it so I'm not complaining ;-)
